My Review:  This story is set in the Roaring Twenties, a time when Hollywood was beginning to become a very big deal and  when the infamous Aimee Semple McPherson was bringing many into the arms of Jesus with her illustrious ministry. Not many “historical fiction” authors even touch this era and I was so glad Allison Pittman did. It’s a great era to set a story. This story in fact was perfectly set in the right era because I could only believe it would have happened during this time period. This story reminded me of a mystery. It kept you guessing how it was all going to come about. It’s well written but you must pay attention as each chapter is from a different perspective and you go back and forth to the characters past and then forward again into their present.

I like that the story is set in a great time period and that its different from other historical fiction. I appreciate the originality of the story and enjoy the way the author can grab your attention right from the beginning.  It only took me two days to read and finish this book. I just couldn’t put it down. I advise you to pick this one up. This will go on my list of favorites.
