My Review:

The story is a bit slow to start out but there is a back story to set up so you can understand the character of Drew better. My 12 year old was getting a bit bored with it until we got through the first 5 or 6 chapters. Then the action started and at that point we just couldn’t put it down. It’s a great story of intrigue, mystery and so much more. I have to admit I can not wait for the sequel (due out in August, btw).

Chuck Black is a great story teller and he pays a lot of attention to detail which I believe is why it took a bit of time to build up the premise of the story and the character.  Princess and I are huge fans of his Kingdom and Knights of Arrethtrae series. So we were totally psyched that he was writing a new one. Of course this series is much different and is set in a modern setting. It kind of has a science fiction feel to it but I found it to be a great read.

I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next in Drew’s life. I have to tell you that you will be left hanging.
