Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life.

As I was thinking about what to write for this weekend’s post I thought about a hundred different things to write about. But after a few moments I realized that with it being Easter weekend it would be remiss of me to not talk about it. It is the most important celebration for Christians. Because without the events of Easter we would not have the hope of being a Christian and everything that word envelopes. 

If Jesus had not been tortured, beaten, abused we would not have hope of healing. If He had not worn the crown of thorns we wouldn’t have deliverance for anxiety and mental struggles. If He had not been nailed to the cross and died we would not have salvation. We would still be working to earn our salvation. 

In fact, Christianity probably wouldn’t have spread all over the world and changed the lives of so many millions of people. I can not fathom where we would be had Jesus not died on that cross over 2000 years ago. But I can tell you this. I am so thankful that He did.

At Christmas time we celebrate His birth. He came into this world as a human baby and yet still completely God. He grew, lived, loved and then when He started His ministry He not only continued to love He healed and taught. He was the greatest example to ever walk this earth. And yet even though He died He arose. He is still the greatest example to live our lives by because He is still living. He is still healing. He is still teaching. HE IS ALIVE! 

There is no other man that did what He did. There is no other man that we can talk to today. There is no other man that changed the world the way He did and still continues to do. Jesus is the only way to heaven. Jesus is the way, the truth and life. No one can come unto the Father but through Him. (John 14:6)

If you only knew the things I have been through my entire life, you would be shocked. There is so much that God has brought me through that I can not even begin to thank him enough. He has saved me, changed me and transformed me. I’m not who I was before and he continues to work in me to perfect me so that I can aspire to be who He has created me to be. Just in the last few years we have gone through some of the hardest struggles of our lives but through it all I see his hand. I see his testimony and I see him continuing to work. The thing we have been believing for the past year I believe is beginning to happen. I believe a shift is coming. 

So, I am so grateful that He willingly went to the cross so I wouldn’t have to. Because I know I deserved that punishment more than He did. But He took it for me. He was the sacrifice so that I can be saved. So I can be with Him through all eternity. If you don’t have Him you will spend eternity in hell. But you don’t have to. 

Romans 10:9 & 10 NIV says “ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” 

You can do that right now. No matter where you are. 

You can pray this prayer “God, I believe that Jesus came to the earth and died on the cross for my sins. I believe that on the third day he rose again. Lord, I repent of my sins and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.”
