Last year I got the opportunity to review Liz Curtis Higgs book “Here Burns My Candle” which you can read that review here. This month I was so pleased to find that I would get the opportunity to read and review the sequel. Liz is one of my favorite authors and I always look forward to anything she puts out.

 

I found Mine is the Night very refreshing. It completely ties up the story nicely and you cry for Joy along with the characters. You grow to love them as you read through the pages and hate for the story to end. Your imagination runs ahead as you try to imagine how life goes on for these people. Without giving anything away I will tell you that the characters deserve a happy ending and you will be so glad to read this story all the way through.

 

Based on the story of Ruth and Naomi this story endears you to Marjory the mother-in-law who in the first book lost everything she loved and cared about, Elisabeth the daughter-in-law who despite the wrongs done to her loved and cared for her mother-in-law as if she was her own mother.  It also introduces us to some new characters that show God’s grace and mercy for those less fortunate and treats them as if they were on the same level of society regardless of their situation. It shows how situations can change you for the better and cause you to humble yourself to God. You will be captured from the first and will not want to put this book down.

 

The book will be released on March 15th and you can pre-order it in many places. I implore you to put this on your “To Read” lists. You will be very glad you did.
