She’s Got Issues {Review}

Recently I got the opportunity from Tyndale House to read/watch and review their new DVD curriculum series for women called She’s Got Issues by Nicole Unice. The past month I read the book and watched the DVD. This curriculum is designed to be used in a women’s small group type of setting and is a 6 week course.

I really enjoyed the book and the journaling prompts that are in it. I even more enjoyed the DVD because there is just so much you can get from hearing the author speak about some of what she has written. I advise that if you pick this up that you read the book along with watching the DVD. She refers back to the book many times and in my opinion a lot of what she talks about goes into more detail in the book. Even though watching the DVD is good you really NEED the book in this particular study.

There are 6 main topics that are discussed in this series; Control, Insecurity, Comparisons, Fear, Anger and Unforgiveness. There are lots of journaling prompts, group discussion questions and self evaluations within the pages. There is also a list of additional resources for you to use. On the DVD there is both a participants guide and a leader’s guide that can be printed.

I do recommend this book and curriculum because we all know that we have issues. Keep in mind that as you read through this is NOT a quick fix thing. She talks about us needing to realize that we have issues and as we grow in God we can be changed from the inside out. Real true change happens over time and getting to know our Father is where this REAL change will start to take place.

If you are looking for a good study for your church’s women’s group I do recommend She’s Got Issues.
