In this Scripture adventure, kids join Oliver as he rights the wrongs done by his so-called Pirate friends. Through it all, Captain Oliver and his firefly Phineas learn that following God’s way is the true way to wisdom!

The Pirate and the Firefly is based on Psalm 1, teaching kids an important lesson about choosing to make wise decisions. The book also contains a Parent Connection-which is a way for parents to dig deeper into Scripture with their kids to learn what God says about living wisely.

The Pirate and the Firefly is such a cute picture book. Boo loved the story and the characters and the images in the book. She loves Oliver’s active imagination. She was able to talk to me about how important it is we should be nice to those around us and not allow bad influences in our lives. It’s a great book to start a conversation with your children about God’s wisdom and following his ways in every situation. It also shows that your children will encounter those who do not follow the same reactions to others that we might. Oliver knew when his “friend” was doing things that were not right.

This is a great book for you to begin digging deeper into scripture with your children.
