Book one in The Heirs of Cahira O’ Connor series. The auburn-haired O’Conner women push against social limits. Their tale is one of peril, courage, vengeance, love and sacrifice.

This first book tells us the story of a young girl who disguises herself as a knight to save herself from a life of a slave. She goes into the service of a kind Lord who takes her on as a squire not knowing that she was a girl.

This story caught and kept my attention from page one. It has adventure, drama and romance. The story is told very well and will keep you hooked. Once you have finished you will be ready to read the next book in the series. This of course is a story based off of some true people and events that take place during the time when true Christians were being martyred for going against the Roman Catholic church that had during that time been tainted by evil men who tried to bargain forgiveness and salvation away to he highest bidder.

A Promise for Breanna by Al Lacy

 

Book one in Angel of Mercy series. Suspense, danger, romance and spiritual truth each play a   part in this heroine’s life as she faces the man who once broke her heart and led her to mistrust men.

This book is set during the time our country was expanding and wagon trains took settlers across our nation to California and Oregon country.

This story follows a character from a previous series that Al Lacy wrote but creates a whole new series with. It really made me want to read the previous series that this character was in. But I have to say there were parts that literally had me on the edge of my seat. I read this book in a mater of a couple of days. I couldn’t put it down. Historical fiction is my cup o tea and this is another that I fell in love with. Again, it made me want to read all the books in the series.  So this one is another one that I recommend for you. Especially if you like historical fiction.
